Yay! New page fresh from… uhm… yeah. Now that it’s summer, and FanimeCon is over (report still to come), I can start back on regular comics again. Super!

… fresh off the drawing board!
Damn man, I didn’t know there’d be so much doping up in this comic. Haha!

ROSCOE: This comic IS about doping…. among other things. 8) Just that this chapter will spend a bit more time on it, while in the past it was merely just a passing reference or something. That is to say, after this chapter I’ll move onto other things, like E(cstasy) and shrooms/acid. 😉
Hopefully all the actual doping acts and/or references doesn’t bother anyone. I don’t expect it to be any worse than what was in Trainspotting, however.

if there’s gonna be more of this in the chapter, mind letting my idiot self in on what jopes is refering to?

Doesn’t bug me at all. I guess I just didn’t understand that until late. I guess I already knew what it would be about by the end of Chapter 2. heh.

DREW: “Jopes” is their secret word for any opiate, namely opium and heroin. Since no one really wants to call what they do by name, especially in front of others, they use “jopes” instead. This goes for most other drugs they use as well; they call marijuana “woah”, ecstasy “alphabet soup”.
ROSCOE: Well that’s good. Thing it, the story is supposed to be rooted in real life, or at least my interpretation of “real life”. Drugs have been all around me for the longest time, whether I like it or not… to not have drugs or people drinking booze in this story defeats the purpose of trying to write a realistic story. The same goes if I omitted love/sex, friendship or gossip/drama.
