Instagram, Patreon, plus Temporary Removal of Feature
July 11th, 2019Heyo, ok so first off I discovered that Instagram lets me load up individual pictures as slides within a single Instagram post. This means I can load up an entire single comic page as frames into Instagram and let people read them. I’ve done three so far:
* MOOSE RIVER GAIDEN #1/4 — https://www.instagram.com/p/Bzy8oAoh_oR/
* MOOSE RIVER GAIDEN #2/4 — https://www.instagram.com/p/Bzy7MQXBHEl/
* MOOSE RIVER PAGE 100 — https://www.instagram.com/p/BzzHjZthyZ_/
And with Moose River Gaiden #3/4 under my belt, I’m going to be posting that on Instagram soon just the same. But gimme a few mins to do that. Sweet, here it is:

Concerning Patreon, I made a post there where I discussed various tiers for supporters and what kind of goodies I can provide to help entice that level of support. One thing I’ve decided to do is give some kind of special benefit to my early supporters, whether you are one of my earliest PATREON supporters (ie helping me financially) or if you were one of my earliest fans from back during the 2004-2009 era of Moose River. I’m still trying to figure out when the “early supporter” period will end—right now I’m thinking once I reach $50-$100/month—but that could change to being maybe the first 25-50 Patrons. Gimme some time to figure it out. In the mean time, feel free to read my post about the various tiers and offers for my here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/28320214
Finally, I also had to temporarily remove one super cool feature I just added to the site: the ability to go to the next or previous pages by using the Arrow keys (or A/D if WASD is your thing)… as it was interfering with the ability to write comments. That is to say, if you were in the text box and started typing, the site would think that any time you typed “A” or “D” on the keyboard would mean you wanted to go to another page, instead of wanting to actually TYPE those letters in a comment. So until I figure out how to have the site recognize those key presses only when OUTSIDE of a text box, I’m gonna disable it for now. Sorry if this caused any inconvenience!
Anyways, time to put an end to this day, which could not have come soon enough. 🙁
